Sophisticated Fun

I decided to test yesterday’s theory out again, this time mixing patterns. I stayed within the burgundy/cream/hint of green color world, and didn’t use too many different textures (2 knits and 2 cottons), but I mixed some pretty fun patterns. Again, the idea was “eclectic, but not eccentric.” I love how this sweater looks with this tunic dress, especially since the dress is sleeveless and this allows me to get more use out if it during the winter! With plain tights and a simpler hair accessory, I think I could look quite sophisticated, but with patterned tights and a patterned headband, the look definitely has a side of fun.

What I’m wearing:
Dress: By Kate Lauren
Sweater: Clarisse Original
Tights: Modified Women’s Sock
Boots: AG Pretty and Plaid
Headband: Vintage

  1. My Audra is freaking out over your mod-style dress — it’s exactly her taste! We love the overall look. Hannah’s been playing with some pattern-mixing today, too. If I can find any light anywhere in my house, I’m going to try to get some pictures of everyone’s outfits today.

  2. This is such an advanced look. Wonderful. You’ve certainly put some real energy into the way I see my various wardrobes. “Mix and match” doesn’t do your work justice! So happy to have been introduced to your blog! Thank you Dawn!
