Questions for Clarisse: Saige’s Parade Outfit and Flower Sweater

Question from Isabella: “Hey Clarisse! I have an outfit called Saiges Parade Outfit. It tends to collect dust in the back of my dolls closet as I don’t know how to use it. Can you please make a post on it for me?”

Question from unicornsnrainbows2014: “Hi Clarisse! So I have an outfit that I would love for you to help me with. It is the flower sweater and skirt set from AGs summer release last year. I would love to buy the outfit, but I need help convincing myself that it would be a good outfit to buy…could you show me some mix and match potential in it? I know it’s there…:)”

As I started playing around with these two outfits, I realized how much mix-and-match potential there was between them, so I decided to do a 2-for-1 post! I used a virtual outfit creating website (Polyvore) to come up with some outfits. There are mostly AG pieces, and I filled in the gaps with some things from Etsy and girl-sized basics that can easily be translated into things your doll may have in her wardrobe.

Truly Trendy: Don’t say goodbye to those trendy summer maxi skirts yet! Pairing them with sweaters is a great way to transition into fall. For accessories, try choosing a contrasting cool color, such as this medium blue, to balance the brightness of the sweater.

Flower Power: I just love the way the flowers on Saige’s parade boots match the floral skirt from the other outfit, so I had to do an outfit with them together. The sparkly camp top picks up the colors in the skirt as well, and a fun hat adds that extra touch of style.

Peachy Sweet: The adorable peachy colored skirt from the Coconut Cutie outfit is just so lovely with Saige’s Parade top! Get a similar look by pairing neutrals with the colors in the blouse for a mono-chromatic feel.

While we’re on the Coconut Cutie outfit, the adorable Coconut tee looks great with Saige’s parade pants and belt. Jazz up a simple tee-and-jeans look by adding colorful accents like these fringe boots or a hat with some detail.

Bright and Bold: Here’s another look that plays with the colors in the floral skirt. Saige’s belt looks great over the skirt with a tucked-in top, and bold colored shoes, glasses, and a contrasting bag are great ways to spice up an outfit.

Layered-up: A collared shirt with a pull-over sweater is a great go-to look for fall, so be sure to have a few of each in your wardrobe! This works well with jeans and sneakers, or you could use ideas from one of the other outfits like a skirt and some more accessories.

I hope this helps give you some ideas!

Questions for Clarisse: Saige’s Tunic Outfit

Question from sirhandel2237: “I have Saige’s tunic outfit and want to mix and match with it. Any suggestions? Thanks!”

This is a great outfit to ask about, because it just happens to be on sale right now on the AG website! I used a virtual outfit creating website (Polyvore) to come up with some outfits. There are mostly doll sized pieces, and I filled in the gaps with girl-sized basics that can easily be translated into things your doll may have in her wardrobe.

Summertime Picnic: This would be a great outfit for a day in the sun! The tunic has a lot of detail, so try something simple on the bottom like a pair of leggings or jeans and sandals. A floppy hat adds a nice accent (again in a neutral color) and the beaded bracelet goes along with the southwestern look of Saige’s collection.

Leggings: Tropical Bloom
Hat: Julie’s Birthday Dress

Pretty and Preppy- Because the pants are plain white, you can play with lots of color on top and in the accessories! Pick a color scheme to accent the white and add details like a scarf or hair accessory to keep the outfit from looking boring. Try tucking them into tall boots, especially ones like these that have a little color and detail too.

Bright and Bold: In the first tunic outfit I let the top be the focus, but don’t be afraid to try something bold! Play up the colors in the embroidery and your girl will definitely stand out with style. Tucking the tunic into a skirt will also give it a different look.

Off to Art Class- Saturated colors work great with white, like this sparkly purple top! Again, use the “white canvas” of the pants to your advantage by adding color in the accessories.

Shoes: Bow-toe Moccasins
